Private Water Systems Home Study Course
 
Welcome to the Penn State Cooperative Extension Water Systems Home Study Course! This course is designed for home owners who want to learn more about their private water system. Lesson materials are available any time. Simply click on the topic title under each lesson and you will go directly to the material to read. You may read the material on screen or print it out for future reference. In addition, there is a list of optional reading information at the end of the lesson materials. In addition to the materials on line, course participants receive individual assistance with learning how to examine their own home water system.
The next course is scheduled to begin on April 9, 2008 and will be limited to 50 participants. Click here for more information about the course. To sign up for the course, complete the registration form and mail to the Penn State Cooperative Extension Office in McKean County. Registration deadline is April 2, 2008.
   
To help you better understand the lesson materials, the Water System Definitions fact sheet will explain some of the terms used in the various fact sheets listed below.
 
Some publications are in PDF format. You will need Adobe Acrobat reader to read and print the publications. Adobe Acrobat Reader is available free of charge from Adobe's website. Click on the icon on the left to get Adobe Acrobat reader.
 
If you have difficulty opening any of the PDF formatted documents, you may want to upgrade your version of Acrobat Reader. Download the newer version to your desktop. Remove the older version, and then install the new version from your desktop. Follow instruction from the install wizard after opening the desktop version.
